Welcome to Project Based Learning
What is project based learning?
Project based learning engages students in an open ended question or problem organized around the standards set forth by the state. It creates an environment in which students will need to know both content and skills to accomplish a task. Students will be involved in real-world activities and practices that require them to become problem solvers, decision makers, and investigators.
How will it help my child?
Project based learning allows students to develop real-world skills. These skills include the ability to: take initiative, collaborate, communicate clearly, solve problems, and state and justify opinions.
What will children do during project based learning?
Students will work as a team while collaborating with both classmates and experts. They will research information as they solve problems. Students will also develop products to demonstrate their learning, and they will communicate their learning to others.
What will my child need for project based learning?
Students in grades 2 - 5 will need a flash drive and a two-pocket folder.
Students in kindergarten and first grade will need a two-pocket folder.
We are in need of the following items: pencils, notebook paper, block erasers, glue sticks, crayons, colored pencils, and clorox wipes.
